Rules of Scathe Academy

No harm may be directly or purposely done to students by other students or faculty. -Merlinus

Hatred for someone else’s love is wrong so long as that love doesn’t hurt anyone else, so no acts of discrimination based on someone’s orientation or identity will be tolerated. -Merlinus

Individuals of all walks of life are accepted by Scathe, whether they’re undead or celestial, magic is not explored to its fullest by limiting it. -Merlinus

Delve not too deep into the darkest magics, for what lies therein shall bring harm to others and yourself. -Merlinus

Commands given by teachers are to be obeyed unless they contradict the rules or are overruled by a Sect Head (Arangaul Nebulous, Dorelle Cannon, Illandria Mythralheart, & Master Pao), the same applies to Sect Heads with regards to the Assistant Deans Jessica Scarletspear & Dragonlord Aerious. Ultimately Dean Yalric Spellhammer has the FINAL word on all disputes, and their wisdom and decisions are to be respected. -Morgan le Fay

Thievery is strongly ill-advised, but only banned against students and faculty. -Merlinus

Students seeking advanced placement must speak to their Sect Heads or the relevant Sect heads. -Nather Othil

Students seeking entrance into the Master or Arch programs early must get the approval of Dean Yalric Spellhammer. -Nather Othil

Students who desire to switch Sects must consult with one or both Assistant Deans on the matter. -Nather Othil

Breaking force barriers on campus grounds is inadvisable, as it may result in harm and could endanger others. They are there for a reason. -Dragonlord Aerious

Flight spells and all manners of flight are disabled near the edge of the earthberg or above a height of four hundred feet, only those with Assistant Dean’s rings or Dean’s rings are exempt. -Dragonlord Aerious

Teachers must have completed the Master’s program or have equivalent experience. -Ulithor Sandsinger

Sect Heads, Assistant Deans, and Deans must have completed the Arch program and spent a decade utilizing their skills outside of Scathe or at Scathe or have an equivalent level of experience. -Dragonlord Aerious

Entering the main building after 10:30 PM without a faculty ring is against the rules, and disciplinary action will be taken against offenders. (Exceptions made in certain circumstances with teacher’s family members). -Havel Goridian

Entering a teacher’s private residence is restricted for students outside of their immediate family or without permission to do so from an Assistant Dean or Dean Yalric Spellhammer themself. -Nather Othil

Students that must leave campus during school hours or require specialized sleeping arrangements must meet with the Dean of Students Jessica Scarletspear to discuss accommodations. -Nather Othil

Students that require specialized or unique educations must meet with the Assistant Dean of Academics Dragonlord Aerious to discuss accommodations. -Nather Othil

Casting anti-magic spells in dorms is against policy, as magical access to those dorms is important to the safety of the school. -Merlinus

Students are forbidden from entering the Room of Eternity without a notice of entrance from Dean Yalric Spellhammer. -Morgan le Fay

Damage to School Property is strictly against school rules. -Merlinus

Interplanar travel to Scathe without the aid of the dimensional sync in Aerious’s Tower, the portal located in the Inksage Sect, the portals in the Cathedral of Worlds, or the use of a faculty spellring is prevented by powerful wards and could result in destruction of persons or property if attempted. -Morgan le Fay

Dean Yalric Spellhammer has declared the Under-Campus off limits following recent incidents. Only those granted permission by Dean Yalric Spellhammer may enter without facing potential disciplinary action. -Yalric Spellhammer

While all cultures and races are welcome, students and faculty must wear coverings that conceal more than 2/3s of their skin including any body parts deemed inappropriate to show in public due to sexual connotations. Ex-Dean Dragonlord Aerious has declared Dragons in their true form exempt from this ruling. -Merlinus

No student shall be punished for refusing to wear the school uniform, however it is strongly encouraged that students wear their uniforms to formal events, such as school assemblies or graduation ceremonies. -Dragonlord Aerious

Intercourse in the dorms and on the main campus is strictly forbidden. While romantic relationships are permitted, public displays of affection are asked to be kept mild and not meant to disturb others. -Merlinus

All religious holidays and traditions shall be respected so long as they are non-disruptive and do not cause harm to one’s self or others. This includes prayer, observation of days without work, and special dietary requirements. -Morgan le Fay
